Is there a free trial?

Yes — all our plans come with a free trial. We ask for your credit card details on sign-up, but if you cancel within the trial period you won't be charged.

We're confident you'll like it. If you don't, just cancel during the trial. No hard feelings.

How can I cancel my subscription?

Via the mobile app: Profile → Account Details → Manage Subscription. If you signed up via the App Store or Google Play, you'll be directed to your phone's subscription management settings to cancel directly in the store.

Via the web app: Click your profile icon (top-right) → Subscription Management.

If you signed up via the App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through the mobile app.

Will you add language X?

Probably! We add new languages regularly — as long as our LLM and text-to-speech models support the language, we can add it. Multiple Arabic dialects and more Spanish variations are on the roadmap.

I'm a complete beginner — is Teacher AI for me?

Teacher AI is built for intermediate learners (A2+) and isn't a good fit if you're a complete beginner. We don't offer structured lessons — it's a speaking-practice tool, not a course.

If you signed up less than 7 days ago and would like a refund, send us a message and we'll take care of it.

Can I upgrade my monthly plan to annual?

Yes — message us and we'll calculate the prorated upgrade cost and switch you over after your approval.

Can I share my account with my partner or family?

Technically yes, but the experience is built around one learner. If you share:

  • Word counters mix because both of you are using it
  • The "new words" list shows words new to either of you
  • You'll need to switch teacher settings each time you use it

For the best results, each learner should have their own account.

Will I get access to all languages?

Yes. One subscription unlocks every language we currently offer (60+), and you'll get every new language we add automatically.

Can I gift someone a subscription?

We don't have a formal gift system yet, but you can create an account in their name, pay for it, then remove your card from "Subscription Management" in settings. Drop us a message and we'll help you set it up cleanly.

Can I pay the annual plan in installments?

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer the option to split the annual plan into installments.

Can I affiliate for Teacher AI?

We have an affiliate program for schools and creators with a meaningful audience. Get in touch and we'll send the details.

What's the difference between ChatGPT and Teacher AI?

Teacher AI is built on top of large language models like the ones powering ChatGPT, but it's designed specifically for language learners. Things Teacher AI does that ChatGPT doesn't:

  • Practice with AI clones of your favorite YouTube language teachers
  • Built-in topics and speaking prompts, sorted by level
  • Tracks your progress — vocabulary, fluency, streaks
  • Tap any word in the conversation to see the translation and hear it spoken
  • Words save automatically to your vocabulary list and flashcards
  • Compete with other learners on the monthly leaderboard
  • Soft corrections that don't interrupt the conversation
  • Bilingual teachers — switch to your native language any time

It's also cheaper than most LLM subscriptions. ;)

Can I use Teacher AI as much as I want?

Yes — unlimited speaking practice. Our power users do 1–2 hours a day; most do 10–20 minutes.

Technical questions

Troubleshooting

The translation is showing in the wrong language

Your base language is probably set wrong. Go to Teacher Preferences and check the first question: "Which language should your teacher use to teach you language X?" Set it to English (or whichever language you understand best).

I can't hear the teacher

Try these steps in order:

  1. Refresh the page. Make sure Teacher AI is open in only one tab.
  2. Check the volume icon in the app — make sure the teacher isn't muted.
  3. Try a different language or teacher.
  4. Check your device's volume settings.
  5. In Teacher Preferences, try changing the teacher's speech speed.
  6. Try a different browser — sometimes the issue is browser-specific.
  7. Update your browser to the latest version.
  8. On mobile, update to the latest iOS or Android.
  9. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  10. Disable browser extensions, especially audio or ad-blocking ones.
  11. Try the website on a different device to isolate the cause.
