Probably! We add new languages regularly — as long as our LLM and text-to-speech models support the language, we can add it. Multiple Arabic dialects and more Spanish variations are on the roadmap.
Teacher AI is built for intermediate learners (A2+) and isn't a good fit if you're a complete beginner. We don't offer structured lessons — it's a speaking-practice tool, not a course.
If you signed up less than 7 days ago and would like a refund, send us a message and we'll take care of it.
Yes — message us and we'll calculate the prorated upgrade cost and switch you over after your approval.
Technically yes, but the experience is built around one learner. If you share:
For the best results, each learner should have their own account.
Yes. One subscription unlocks every language we currently offer (60+), and you'll get every new language we add automatically.
We don't have a formal gift system yet, but you can create an account in their name, pay for it, then remove your card from "Subscription Management" in settings. Drop us a message and we'll help you set it up cleanly.
Unfortunately, we don't currently offer the option to split the annual plan into installments.
We have an affiliate program for schools and creators with a meaningful audience. Get in touch and we'll send the details.
Teacher AI is built on top of large language models like the ones powering ChatGPT, but it's designed specifically for language learners. Things Teacher AI does that ChatGPT doesn't:
It's also cheaper than most LLM subscriptions. ;)
Yes — unlimited speaking practice. Our power users do 1–2 hours a day; most do 10–20 minutes.
Tap the flag icon in the top-left corner of your screen.
On the home screen you'll see the topics. Above them are two tabs: one called "Teacher AI" and, next to it, the name of your currently selected teacher. Tap the teacher's name to switch to a different teacher.
Your streak increases when you practice once per day. The system tracks this based on UTC time, so each day is counted globally rather than by your local timezone.
The current maximum level is 100. We may increase this cap in the future.
A word is "activated" when you actively use it in a conversation, not just recognize or understand it, but actually use it while speaking or typing. You can also activate words through flashcards: once a word reaches the "I Speak" stage, it counts as activated.
This isn't available yet, but we'll share the suggestion with our team for future improvements.
Teacher AI focuses on building confidence in real conversations. Apps like Duolingo are great for vocabulary and structure, while Teacher AI helps you actually speak. Many users combine both for the best results.
Teacher AI works best for intermediate learners, but beginners can still get started using the A1 Conversation Starters. If you prefer using a computer, you can also use the web app at app.yourteacher.ai.
Our friend John made a video that walks through how Teacher AI works and how to get started: watch the tutorial.
Don't worry too much about all the extra features at first. The easiest way to learn the app is to start a conversation and begin speaking. If you have specific questions after watching, feel free to ask.
It sounds like your Instruction Language may be set incorrectly. Go to Settings → Customize Teacher → Instruction Language → Mother Language, then select the language you want translations to appear in.
Please note: existing flashcards stay in their current language. Only newly added words will use the updated translation language.
The streak is counted based on UTC time, not your local timezone. Depending on when you practice, it's possible to miss a day unintentionally. For example, practicing very early on day one and then close to midnight the next day can break your streak. We know this isn't ideal and the team is looking into improving it.
Sometimes a topic isn't marked as completed even after you've worked through it. There's no need to worry: your progress is still tracked in the background, and your word count, level, and flashcards keep updating based on your activity. If this happens often, contact us and we'll take a closer look.
If you're on the web app, check your website audio settings. On mobile, make sure the app's sound permissions are enabled. If it's still not fixed, try another browser.
As a temporary workaround, open the email with the login code on a second device, such as a tablet or computer. Alternatively, keep both the email app and the Teacher AI app open at once using your phone's app switcher or multitasking view.
Farsi isn't available yet as a mother language option. You can still practice conversations, but translations won't be shown in Farsi. If you've already completed onboarding, you can change this under Settings → Instruction language → Mother language.
Fill in the form and we'll get back to you, usually within 24 hours.
